Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar, stirring until smooth.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the bowl, mixing until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Gently fold in the diced apples and walnuts (if using).
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the blondies are baking, prepare the maple glaze by whisking together the maple syrup and powdered sugar until smooth.
Once the blondies are done baking, let them cool for about 10 minutes in the pan.
Drizzle the maple glaze over the warm blondies, spreading it evenly with a spatula if necessary.
