Maple Glazed Apple Blondies are a delightful treat that brings the warmth of fall right into your kitchen. Growing up in the Midwest, fall always meant apple picking with my family, and those fresh apples often found their way into so many comforting desserts. These blondies are perfect for those busy workweeks when you need a simple yet delicious dessert to brighten your day.
These blondies are wonderfully versatile. Serve them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert, or enjoy them with a hot cup of tea or coffee for an afternoon pick-me-up. They also pair nicely with a light salad or soup if you’re having them as part of a larger meal.

    Ingredients
    1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
    2 large eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
    1/2 cup pure maple syrup
    1/2 cup powdered sugar
    Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar, stirring until smooth.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the bowl, mixing until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Gently fold in the diced apples and walnuts (if using).
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the blondies are baking, prepare the maple glaze by whisking together the maple syrup and powdered sugar until smooth.
Once the blondies are done baking, let them cool for about 10 minutes in the pan.
Drizzle the maple glaze over the warm blondies, spreading it evenly with a spatula if necessary.

Allow the blondies to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
    Variations & Tips
If you’re looking to switch things up, try adding a handful of dried cranberries or raisins for a bit of extra texture and flavor. You can also substitute pecans for walnuts if you prefer. For an extra kick, a pinch of ground cloves or allspice can add more depth to the warm, autumnal spices. Lastly, if you’re short on time, you can use store-bought caramel sauce in place of the maple glaze.
