Herb and Cheese Biscuits with Sour Cream
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
3/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
3/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
3. Add the chopped herbs and shredded cheese to the flour mixture and stir to combine.
4. Work the cold butter into the flour mixture using your fingertips or a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
5. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the sour cream and milk. Add this to the flour mixture and stir until just combined; the dough should be sticky.
6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead just until it comes together.
7. Pat the dough into a round about 1 inch thick and use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Re-pat scraps as needed.
8. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
