Preparation:
Preparation of the cleaning solution: In a bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda with warm water. For an even better shine, add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. The vinegar will help remove limescale deposits and restore the shine of the tiles.
Application: Dip a cloth or sponge into the prepared mixture. Then gently wipe the tiles with it, focusing on the areas that require more attention (e.g. with stains or deposits).
Polishing: After wiping the entire surface of the tiles, wipe them dry with a clean, dry cloth to achieve a shine.
Serving and storage tips:
Regularity: To keep the tiles in good condition, use this method regularly. Baking soda not only effectively removes dirt, but also prevents the formation of deposits, so the tiles will look fresh for longer.
Safe use: Make sure not to use too much water to prevent excess moisture from forming in the grout. This will prevent mold.
Storing the mixture: If you make more solution than you need, you can store it in a tightly closed bottle. However, it is best to use a freshly prepared solution for best results.
Variations:
For Bathroom Tiles: If you’re dealing with tough stains in your bathroom, like soap scum or limescale, add a little more baking soda to the solution. This will help remove tough stains more effectively.
For Porcelain Tiles: Porcelain tiles may require more intensive polishing. You can add a few drops of essential oil (like tea tree) to the mixture, which will improve both the scent and the antibacterial properties.
