Step 6: Turn off the oven and cool somewhat.
After 20 or 30 minutes, turn off the oven and carefully open the door. Allow the oven to cool just enough that it is safe to handle. You don’t want to burn yourself, but you also don’t want to let the oven cool too much before washing it down.
Step 7: Wipe the Interior
Start washing off the oven’s inside with a gentle cloth or sponge. You’ll notice that the filth is readily removed without the need for hard washing. If any rough places remain, use a spatula or scraper to carefully remove them. Dip your cloth in the residual warm vinegar water for further cleaning power.
Step 8: Admire Your Clean Oven.
After wiping clean the interior, your oven should appear brand new. What is the best part? You just cleaned your oven without using dangerous chemicals, and it probably took half as long as typical procedures!
Why Steam Cleaning is a Game Changer
There are several reasons why steam cleaning has become my preferred method for oven cleaning:
1. No harsh chemicals.
Many traditional oven cleaners use strong chemicals to break down oil and dirt. These cleansers can be useful, but they frequently leave unpleasant scents and can even pose health dangers if not handled correctly. Steam cleaning employs only water and optional vinegar, making it an environmentally friendly and chemical-free choice. It’s ideal for families with children, pets, or those who are sensitive to chemical cleansers.
2. Cleaning is effortless.
Scrubbing is one of the most irritating aspects of cleaning an oven. Baked-on food might be difficult to remove with traditional cleansers, but steam easily loosens gunk. Once the steam has dissolved the dirt, a couple wipes will leave your oven sparkling. No more aching arms from hours of washing!
3. Quick and convenient.
Steam cleaning is very quick. Once the oven is warmed and the water begins to steam, the filth will soften in around 20 to 30 minutes. After that, a simple wipe off is all that is required. Steam cleaning takes far less time than chemical cleaners, which frequently require numerous rounds of application and scrubbing.
