★Ingredients

For the Crust:

1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar

Pinch of salt

For the Filling:

3 large eggs

1 cup (200g) packed light brown sugar

1 cup (240ml) light corn syrup

1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

2 cups (240g) chopped pecans

★Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Crust

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together butter, flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove and let cool slightly.

Step 2: Make the Filling

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  2. Fold in the chopped pecans.

Step 3: Assemble and Bake

  1. Pour the filling over the baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  2. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly golden.
  3. Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.

Step 4: Slice and Serve

  1. Once cooled, lift the bars out using the parchment paper and cut them into squares.
  2. Serve and enjoy!
