How to Defrost the Freezer in 5 Minutes
1-Turn off your Freezer:
The first thing you should do is turn off the freezer to prevent it from generating more cold during the process.
2-Prepare a saline solution and apply it:
Add 2 tablespoons of common salt to a bowl of warm water. Salt is a natural agent that helps speed up the melting of ice due to its ability to lower the freezing point of water.
Dip a clean sponge or cloth into the saline solution you prepared and begin applying it to the frozen areas of your freezer. Focus on the areas most affected by ice.
3-Let it act for 5 minutes:
Once you’ve applied the saline solution, close the freezer door and wait for about 5 minutes. During this time, the salt will begin to take effect, melting the ice surprisingly quickly.
4-Remove the Ice:
After waiting the 5 minutes, open the freezer door again and use a plastic spatula or towel to gently remove the melted ice. Do not use sharp or metal objects, as they could damage the interior of your freezer.
Once you’ve removed all the melted ice, dry the inside of the freezer thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth. Make sure there is no residual water left.
Finally, turn your freezer back on to start cooling again. This trick is a great way to defrost your freezer quickly and efficiently. You won’t need to defrost more than once or twice a year, regardless of whether you have an old or new refrigerator or freezer model.
Keeping your freezer clean and working correctly is essential to keep your food in good condition and save energy. Take advantage of this homemade trick and enjoy a spotless freezer in just 5 minutes. Your pocket and your food will thank you!
