What would become of our floors if we didn’t always have a mop handy? This very useful tool, however, has one disadvantage: it is almost impossible to keep it clean .
Over time, the mop takes on a grayish color and an unpleasant odor, caused by the dirt and bacteria that accumulate during each use.
Dirt accumulates on the mop , and the humidity to which it is constantly exposed encourages the proliferation of bacteria that become impossible to eliminate even with chemical substances.

The most effective way to keep your mop clean is to wash and dry it, preferably under the sun, to reduce the accumulation of bacteria. Here’s how to do it.
You need a bucket, water, floor soap, white vinegar and the juice of a lemon.
Pour the water, vinegar, and lemon juice into the bucket. Wash the mop thoroughly with water and floor soap, scrubbing until it suds up. Submerge the mop in the bucket and let it sit for three hours.
Rinse the mop and let it dry in the sun. Once dry it will be very clean, will have regained its original color and ready to be used.
