Cranberry sauce is one of those classic dishes that brings the holiday season to mind. Growing up in the Midwest, it was a staple on our Thanksgiving table, and now that I’m juggling a busy career with my love of cooking, I’ve found a way to make it simple yet delicious. This 3-ingredient cranberry sauce is perfect for those of us who want to make something homemade without spending hours in the kitchen. It’s tangy, sweet, and adds a nice pop of color to any meal.
This cranberry sauce pairs wonderfully with roast turkey or chicken, but it’s also fantastic as a spread on leftover sandwiches. For a complete holiday spread, serve it with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green bean casserole. The tartness of the cranberries perfectly complements the rich flavors of these classic sides.

1 cup orange juice
Directions
Rinse cranberries under cold water, discarding any that are soft or discolored.

Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
Transfer to a serving dish or airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Variations and Tips
For a variation, add a cinnamon stick or a pinch of nutmeg while the sauce simmers for a warm, spicy flavor. If you prefer a less sweet sauce, reduce the sugar to 3/4 cup. You can also substitute half of the orange juice with water for a milder citrus flavor. For a little texture, add a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans once the sauce has cooled.
