Southern Fried Cabbage
Ingredients
5 strips bacon
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 head green cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon cane syrup
salt and pepper, to taste

Directions
1. Cut the bacon into a large dice.
2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat and add the bacon. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.
