SCRATCHES ON WOODEN DOORS: WHY THEY OCCUR
Wood is the preferred material for making doors and gates. But, unfortunately, it is not a material that is free of the scratches that occur in moments of carelessness, negligence or because there are children at home.
Scratches on wooden doors can occur even if the wood is very good. However, scratches can also be caused by the passage of time and wear and tear. You only have to look a little closer at the wood to immediately notice some imperfections in even the most neat wooden door.
After all, wood, being a natural material, would require almost annual care with specific wood products. This applies to doors as well as window frames and to all those wooden elements that are subject to the elements and that we do not want to be damaged, but to resist the passage of time.
Fortunately, there is a cheap but certainly very effective granny remedy that will allow you to hide the scratches on your wooden door. Let’s take a look at how to put it into practice and what it takes.

How to remove them
For brown solid wood doors, the quintessential grandma’s trick is to use an unusual ingredient in all kitchens: coffee grounds.
First, however, you should check the scratches on the wood. Yes, because if the scratches are superficial, they can be treated with a simple olive oil to put on a cotton ball and pass over the scratch, which you will see disappear after a few passes. This happens because the oil nourishes the wood and fills in any scratches.
If the scratches are deeper and the wood is brown, you can use coffee beans. To use them, you have to put them in a small bowl to which hot water will be added. Add a tablespoon of flaxseed oil to the resulting mixture. After mixing, you will get a grainy mixture that you should spread over the scratch and leave on for at least half an hour. After the necessary time, you will need to rub with a sponge.

You will see that scratching is minimized, if not completely eliminated, thanks to the nourishing and coloring power of coffee. Then, to protect the wood, give a coat of beeswax, the best ally of wood, especially if it is chosen with natural ingredients.
