Preparation:
Finely slice the onion and garlic.
Cut the sausages into slices or pieces according to your preference.
Cooking the sausages:
Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
Add the sausage pieces and cook until golden brown on all sides.
Remove the sausages from the pan and set aside.
Preparation of the sauce:
Add the chopped onion and garlic to the same pan. Brown them over low heat until translucent and lightly browned.
Add the crème fraîche to the pan and stir well to incorporate the flavors.
Add the grated cheese a little at a time, stirring constantly, until it has completely melted and the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.
Season the sauce with salt, pepper and, if desired, a pinch of nutmeg
