There are also other different ways to obtain scented and environmentally friendly clothes, using natural remedies for the washing machine. Let’s see which ones:

White vinegar is an excellent detergent and degreaser for clothes. Instead of the traditional fabric softener, this product can be used by pouring half a glass directly into the washing machine drum or into the sink for hand washing. You can also opt for apple cider vinegar, which is more delicate and scented. Vinegar is effective in fixing colors and removing stains.
Baking soda is an effective antibacterial agent and a natural deodorizer for clothes. You can pour a couple of tablespoons directly into the drum or tray of the washing machine, as you would do with laundry detergent. If you wash by hand, you can pour a little baking soda into the warm water of the basin, letting it dissolve well and leaving the clothes to soak for at least an hour.
Epsom salts or bitter salt are a pure mineral compound formed by magnesium and sulfate, ideal for giving a pleasant aroma to clothes. You can mix 1-2 cups of bitter salt with 2 tablespoons of essential oil of your choice and add 1-2 tablespoons of this mixture directly into the washing machine before washing the clothes.
