White garments are never missing from our wardrobes, whether they are t-shirts, shirts or underwear, they are excellent for the summer months, easily matched with other colors and never go out of fashion.
However, their big disadvantage is that they tend to stain yellow very easily, especially garments that are stored for a long time or due to products such as deodorants or some perfumes.
For this reason, we have compiled a list of the 6 best tricks to remove yellowish stains from white clothes . These tricks are based on simple ingredients that are available to everyone.
1. Baking soda
It is one of the most used and effective whitening products, in addition to being ecological and safe for our health. Combined with vinegar its power is doubled.
Dampen the stained item with water, then sprinkle baking soda directly onto the stain and scrub well with a toothbrush. Let the baking soda sit for 30 minutes. Finally, wash the item as normal.
2. White vinegar
Known to be an excellent natural fabric softener and capable of disinfecting surfaces, vinegar is also effective against yellowish stains on white clothes.
If you need to machine wash, pour 250 ml of white vinegar into the fabric softener compartment. To hand wash, immerse the garment in a bucket with half a liter of hot water and half a liter of vinegar for 30 minutes, then wash as normal.
3. Lemon juice
The acidic properties of lemon juice are very effective for whitening white clothes. Apply a few drops of lemon juice to the stain and leave it to act for an hour, with the garment exposed to the sun. Then wash the garment as normal.
Remember that not all fabrics are the same and that some are more delicate than others. Always read the label of the garment to understand which is the most appropriate washing method and whether it is possible to apply products such as bleach or bicarbonate.
4. Hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is very effective against yellow stains on white clothes, but it is only safe to use on cotton, synthetic or nylon clothes.
