Hushpuppies, those delightfully crispy and sweet little balls of fried cornmeal dough, are a staple in Southern cooking that I’ve come to love right here in the Midwest. Adding honey butter to the mix gives these hushpuppies a touch of decadent sweetness, making them irresistible as a side dish or a fun appetizer. If you’re looking for something unique and comforting for your next family gathering or a cozy night in, these honey butter hushpuppies will not disappoint!
These honey butter hushpuppies are incredibly versatile. They pair wonderfully with your favorite fried fish or a hearty barbecue meal. If you’re serving them as an appetizer, try dipping them in a spicy remoulade sauce or a simple honey mustard to complement their sweetness. For a lighter option, a crisp coleslaw or a refreshing cucumber salad will balance out their richness beautifully.

Variations & Tips
For a spicy kick, add chopped jalapenos or diced green chilies to the batter. If you’re a cheese lover, stirring in some grated cheddar or pepper jack can make these hushpuppies even more delightful. And for an even richer flavor, try using browned butter instead of regular melted butter for that extra nutty aroma.
