Fried Green Tomatoes Recipe:

Ingredients:
4 large green tomatoes
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper to taste
1 quart vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Slice the green tomatoes into approximately 1/4-inch thick rounds.
2. In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the milk.
3. In separate bowls, place the flour, cornmeal, and bread crumbs.
4. Season the bread crumbs with salt and pepper.
5. Dip each tomato slice into the flour, then the egg mixture, and finally coat it with the seasoned bread crumbs.
6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to around 350°F (175°C).
7. Carefully place the coated tomato slices into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the skillet.
8. Fry the tomatoes for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown.
9. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried tomatoes and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
10. While still hot, sprinkle some more salt over the fried tomatoes.
Serve the fried green tomatoes warm as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
