- 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast
- 1 3/4 cups (400ml) warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Semolina or flour for dusting
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Mix Dough: Combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Stir in warm water and olive oil until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead & Rest: Knead for 8-10 minutes or mix with a stand mixer for 6-8 minutes. Cover and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled.
- Stretch & Fold: Gently stretch the dough into a rectangle, fold into thirds, and let rest for 30 minutes. Repeat twice.
- Shape: Divide dough into 2-3 portions, shape into loaves, and let rise for 45-60 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) with a baking stone and steam pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding.
