Easy Southern Cornbread Dressing with Chicken Recipe:

Ingredients:
Cooked or boxed cornbread
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup diced white onion
1 cup diced celery
14 ounces cream of chicken soup
8 ounces cooked, shredded chicken breasts, no skin
1/4 cup finely diced green peppers
2 teaspoons ground sag
4 minced garlic cloves
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil, celery, onions, garlic, and green peppers. Sauté until onions are translucent and the vegetables are soft. Set them aside to cool.
3. Place cornbread (ideally day old) in a large mixing bowl and crumble it thoroughly.
4. Mix in sautéed veggies, ground sage, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
5. Add eggs and cream of chicken soup, stirring to combine.
6. Slowly pour in chicken broth to achieve a thick oatmeal-like consistency. Adjust the amount as necessary.
7. Spread half of the dressing mixture in greased baking dish, add the shredded chicken, and top with the remaining dressing.
