    Ingredients
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    3 large eggs
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
    Powdered sugar, for dusting
    Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup softened butter, and 1/4 cup sugar. Mix until the dough comes together.
Press the dough into the prepared baking dish to form an even layer.
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until it turns a light golden brown.
In another bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and baking powder.
Beat in the eggs and lemon juice until the mixture is well-combined and smooth.
Pour the lemon mixture over the warm crust.
Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are light golden brown.
Allow the lemon bars to cool in the dish on a wire rack.
Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar before cutting into squares.

    Variations & Tips
For a twist on these classic lemon bars, try adding a teaspoon of lemon zest to the filling for an extra burst of citrus flavor. If you like a creamier texture, add a couple of tablespoons of heavy cream to the lemon filling. You can also substitute half of the lemon juice with lime or orange juice for a different citrus flavor profile. For those who enjoy a bit of crunch, sprinkle some finely chopped nuts like almonds or pecans into the crust before baking.
