A creamy Alfredo lasagna is a delicious twist on the traditional lasagna, with rich and velvety Alfredo sauce replacing the usual tomato-based marinara. Here’s a recipe for making this comforting and indulgent dish:

Ingredients:

  • For the Alfredo Sauce:
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1 cup whole milk
    • 1 cup unsalted butter
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
    • ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
  • For the Lasagna:
    • 12 lasagna noodles (regular or no-boil)
    • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or cubed) or 1 lb ground beef (optional)
    • 1 cup ricotta cheese
    • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
    • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:
    • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 5-7 minutes.
    • Stir in the Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese, and cook for another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce thickens.
    • Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder (optional) to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Lasagna Noodles:
    • If using regular lasagna noodles, cook them according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
    • If using no-boil noodles, skip this step.
  3. Assemble the Lasagna:
    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Spread a thin layer of the Alfredo sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
    • Spread a layer of ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by a portion of the cooked chicken or ground beef (if using).
    • Add another layer of Alfredo sauce, then top with a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese and some grated Parmesan.
    • Repeat the layers: noodles, ricotta, chicken (or beef), Alfredo sauce, and cheeses. Continue layering until you run out of ingredients, finishing with a layer of sauce and cheese on top.
  4. Bake the Lasagna:
    • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
    • Let the lasagna sit for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow it to set.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot!

Enjoy your creamy Alfredo lasagna with a side of garlic bread and a fresh salad!
