How to clean car mats with an everyday product?
In winter as in summer, shoes often leave mud marks on car mats. To give them a clean look, there is a natural and easy-to-apply tip. It will help you remove all the dirt by adopting a few simple steps.
Baking soda
A classic in home maintenance, baking soda will be your ideal ally for cleaning car carpets. Simply sprinkle a sufficient dose of baking soda over the entire surface of the carpet. Leave it on overnight and vacuum it the next day. This 100% ecological method not only deeply cleans the carpets but also eliminates tobacco or food odors in the car.

It is possible to proceed differently by mixing 2 teaspoons of baking soda with 1 liter of sparkling water. Using a cloth lightly soaked in this solution, wipe the surface of the carpet then let it sit for around thirty minutes. Rinse with warm water and let the mat air dry. The result is guaranteed!
Like baking soda, there are a variety of natural products for cleaning car carpets. With simple daily actions, you will be able to easily clean these essential components while giving a great look to your vehicle interior.
The steam
This tip is often used as a first method for removing difficult stains and other soils from carpets. To do this, use a steam cleaner, which you will pass over each carpet in your car. Then, using a soft cloth, rub the surface to remove all dirt.
Land of Sommières
An excellent dry stain remover, Sommières soil, known as “Fez soap”, effectively eliminates liquid and grease stains on carpets. In addition to being inexpensive, this natural clay has real absorbent power which works wonders on carpets in general. Sprinkle a sufficient quantity on this car accessory then leave it to act for a few hours or even overnight. Then vacuum up the powder and wipe with a clean cloth.

Black soap
To deeply clean car carpets, there’s nothing like black soap. Simply dilute a sufficient quantity in a basin of lukewarm water. Then soak a sponge in soapy water before scrubbing the surface of the carpet. It is possible to use a soft brush at the same time to remove all stubborn stains and dust residue. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing with clean water then drying in the sun. Your carpets will be like new!
Oxygenated water
Unlike fabric mats, plastic mats are easier to clean. Instead of washing them in water containing dishwashing detergent or any other detergent, it is better to use hydrogen peroxide, a natural and effective solution. To do this, use a clean cloth that you will soak in a mixture of 2⁄3 water and 1⁄3 hydrogen peroxide. Then rinse with clean water and let dry in the open air.
Practical advice: when removing a carpet, it is common to see a halo appear. Rather than focusing on just one area, it makes more sense to clean the entire surface of the carpet.
